Aaron Rodgers Ties Peyton Manning as Steelers Win in OT

Aaron Rodgers hit Germie Bernard for a touchdown with 3:15 left in overtime, and the Pittsburgh Steelers finished a comeback from 13 points down in the fourth quarter to beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 26-19 on Sunday. Rodgers threw two touchdown passes, and that gave him 539 for his career, tying Peyton Manning for third on the NFL's all-time list.
Only Tom Brady (649) and Drew Brees (571) have more. The Steelers are 4-2 with their first road win of the season, and the Bucs fall to 1-5.
Down 16-3, Then Nobody Could Stop Them
For three quarters this looked like a bad day at Raymond James Stadium. Rodgers was sacked five times before the fourth quarter, threw an early interception, and Pittsburgh trailed 16-3 heading to the fourth. Then the Steelers scored on five straight possessions.
Rodgers found tight end Darnell Washington for a 5-yard touchdown early in the fourth. A Chris Boswell field goal made it 16-13, and after a Daylen Everette interception, Boswell drilled a 58-yarder to tie it. Former Buc Jamel Dean then picked off rookie Jalon Daniels and returned it 40 yards deep into Tampa Bay territory, and Boswell's 20-yarder put Pittsburgh up 19-16 with 1:21 left. Boswell finished with four field goals.
Daniels answered with completions of 22 and 13 yards to fellow rookie Ted Hurst, and Chase McLaughlin, now 14 of 14 this season, hit a 53-yarder to force overtime.
The Overtime Finish
Pittsburgh's overtime drive went 12 plays and 70 yards before the Bernard score. Daniels got the Bucs to the Steelers 48 on the next possession, but Jalen Ramsey sacked him on fourth down for an 11-yard loss to end it.
DK Metcalf was the engine, catching 11 passes for 93 yards on 15 targets a week after seeing just four. "Once we got DK involved, the offense shifted," Rodgers said. Metcalf managers, that is the target share you were waiting for. Rodgers finished 33 of 49 for 253 yards.
"This is a trajectory win," said the 42-year-old Rodgers. Coach Mike McCarthy spent halftime in the injury tent after getting his foot stepped on along the sideline, but he was back for the third quarter and finished the game.
Next Stop, Paris
The Bucs, whose five losses have all come by seven points or fewer, visit Carolina next Sunday. The Steelers face the New Orleans Saints at Stade de France on Sunday, Oct. 25, at 9:30 a.m. ET in the first NFL regular-season game ever played in France. Rodgers admitted a 3-3 record heading to Paris was "just not what you want." Now they get to go at 4-2.
