Brock Boeser had a goal and two assists, and the Vancouver Canucks scored three times late in the third period before Filip Hronek won it with 11 seconds left in overtime. Vancouver beat the Anaheim Ducks 6-5 at Honda Center on Tuesday and snapped a 10-game losing streak.

The Canucks (3-10-1) had gone 0-9-1 during the skid and trailed 5-2 with less than eight minutes left in regulation. "I'm hoping this turns a corner for us," Boeser told NHL.com. "We played a lot better hockey the last two games, and in spurts, and we understand how we need to play."

How Brock Boeser and the Canucks came back

Anaheim led 4-1 after two periods. Boeser got Vancouver going at 11:40 of the third, when the puck bounced off his body and past Lukas Dostal after Alex Killorn tried to swat it away from the net. A.J. Greer answered for the Ducks 43 seconds later with his second goal of the night, and it looked over at 5-2.

Jamie Oleksiak's slap shot from above the hash marks made it 5-3 at 12:54. Then, with Leevi Merilainen pulled, Jonathan Lekkerimaki scored twice in 49 seconds, at 17:14 and 18:03, the second one through a screen from above the left circle. Canucks fans who had stuck around through 10 straight losses finally got a reason to stay up late.

"He's elite in terms of his ability to get it off and pick corners," coach Manny Malhotra said of Lekkerimaki.

Hronek ends it on the 5-on-3

In overtime, Hronek hammered a one-timer on a 5-on-3 power play with 11 seconds left. It was a nice bit of redemption, since Anaheim's first goal had gone in off Hronek's stick blade in the first period. Elias Pettersson added two assists, and Merilainen made 18 saves.

"Not just getting a win, but a big come-from-behind win in the third (period), is obviously something we can build off of," Malhotra said.

A brutal one for the Ducks

Greer scored twice, and Leo Carlsson and Jeff Malott each had a goal and an assist for Anaheim (5-6-1), which has lost six of seven. Jackson LaCombe had three assists. Carlsson's goal was the 65th of his career, passing Lucas Raymond for second-most by a Swedish player before age 22.

"That can't happen," Ducks captain Mikael Granlund said. "It's unacceptable and we've got to do a better job closing out these games." Coach Joel Quenneville called it "a terrible loss." Ducks fans watching the last eight minutes will be replaying the icing and turnover Quenneville pointed to.

Boeser was in the middle of the comeback, with a hand in three of the six goals. Smacktok pick: lean higher on Brock Boeser's points in Vancouver's next game.
