Caleb Williams Avoids Major Injury

Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams avoided a major hamstring injury after Sunday's loss to the Minnesota Vikings, and Tom Pelissero reported Monday that the Bears have not ruled him out for Week 3 against the Philadelphia Eagles. Williams went down on a non-contact play, grabbed the hamstring, and was carted to the locker room before Chicago ruled him out. Adam Schefter reported he was scheduled for an MRI on Monday to pin down the grade.

Sunday night optimism from Mike Florio framed the hope as a Grade 1 strain, the lowest level with minimal fiber tearing. Monday's Pelissero update went further on the board that matters: tests did not show a major injury, and Week 3 remains open. That is not a start lock. It is the opposite of a multi-week shutdown stamp.

If Williams cannot go next Monday night at home against Philly, Tyson Bagent is the next man up. Soft fantasy note only: do not invent a snap count or a return date from one imaging day. Bank the "not major" line and watch practice participation.

This card moves past the cart and the immediate hamstring scare. Same injury. New Monday clarity. Chicago still has a quarterback fight on the calendar, not a closed book.

Week 3 watch

MRI Monday. Not major. Not ruled out vs Eagles.

Hope holds. Practice decides.
