Keenum Ready as Bears QB Room Hits MNF Chaos

Case Keenum is the only healthy quarterback on the Chicago Bears' 53-man roster after the club's first Week 3 injury report listed Caleb Williams (hamstring) and Tyson Bagent (concussion) as did-not-participate estimates ahead of Monday Night Football against the Philadelphia Eagles, the Chicago Sun-Times reported Thursday. Keenum practiced Wednesday and told ESPN he feels prepared if his name is called.
That QB stamp is the board. Soft fantasy note only: do not invent a Williams surprise start from hope. Plan as if Keenum is QB1 until Friday/Saturday practices contradict it.
Williams is week-to-week after the Week 2 hamstring strain and is not expected to practice this week, though Ben Johnson has not officially ruled him out. Bagent entered the five-step concussion protocol after reporting symptoms Tuesday and was away from Halas Hall Wednesday. Keenum, 38, has not started a regular-season game since 2023 with Houston.
Bears fans already lived the dual hit Sunday. Now the estimated Thursday report (no live practice because of the Monday slate) makes Keenum the only active-roster option. Practice-squad arm Miller Moss is likely to be elevated Monday. Soft fantasy note only: downgrade Chicago pass catchers until the starter is confirmed in writing.
Eagles fans should expect a different Chicago operation if Keenum starts. Johnson said outsiders writing the Bears off is fuel. Soft fantasy note only: stream Philadelphia defense with confidence if Keenum is locked, and do not force Bears skill names.
Also on the estimated report: kicker Cairo Santos (right hip) and running back Kyle Monangai (knee) as DNPs, plus Tyrique Stevenson (hamstring) and Grady Jarrett (rest). None of that changes the loudest line. The quarterback room is down to the veteran.
Keenum re-signed with Chicago on a two-year deal after coming out of retirement for Ben Johnson, ESPN noted. He worked the starters Wednesday while Williams stayed in meetings and walk-throughs. Soft fantasy note only: experience helps operationally, but it does not manufacture open receivers against a Philadelphia front.
Bears fans remember Keenum's short-yardage competence and preseason reps under this staff. That is different from asking him to win a road-primetime script against the Eagles. Soft fantasy note only: pivot to Philadelphia DST and fade Chicago WR/TE until the starter is confirmed.
If Williams somehow returns, the board flips. Johnson has left that door cracked without promising it. Soft fantasy note only: hold Williams on IR or bench slots, start Keenum only in deep Superflex if you are stuck, and wait for the next practice participation stamp.
Bears board
Keenum: only healthy QB on 53. Practiced Wed, ready if called.
Williams (hamstring) + Bagent (concussion): DNP estimates on first Week 3 report.
Next: Eagles at Bears, Monday Night Football Week 3.

Trust the Keenum-only stamp for now, then wait for the next practice report before you spend Monday Night fantasy capital on Chicago's offense.
