Chris Jones Expected to Play on SNF

Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Chris Jones is expected to play Sunday Night Football against the Indianapolis Colts despite a calf injury, with NFL Network's Ian Rapoport saying the star interior rusher should be good to go, possibly on a limited snap count. Jones was limited in every practice this week and carried an official questionable tag into the weekend. The inactive list still drops 90 minutes before the 8:20 p.m. ET kickoff, so treat Rapoport's stamp as the best pregame read, not a final sheet.

That is the SNF board Kansas City fans wanted after left tackle Josh Simmons was already ruled out and safety Chamarri Conner joined him on the shelf. Losing Jones on top of that would gut the interior. Getting him back, even in a managed package, keeps the pocket collapsing on Daniel Jones.

Limited snaps still matter

A calf that limited him all week can still cap his snap share. Do not invent a 70-snap monster night from one optimistic note. Expect the Chiefs to pick their downs, especially early, and lean on the rest of the front when the calf tightens. Mansoor Delane is also questionable with a shoulder, so the secondary may shuffle on the same report.

Fantasy IDP and DFS rooms that faded Kansas City's defense over the Jones tag can revisit once the inactive sheet posts. Until then, Rapoport's Sunday read is the cleanest signal available. Simmons remains out. Jones is the different stamp.

Indianapolis brings an upstart offense into Arrowhead on national TV. Kansas City cannot afford a soft middle if it wants to slow that attack.
