Deebo Samuel to Miss Time With Hamstring Injury
By Smacktok

The 49ers just lost another receiver. Deebo Samuel injured his right hamstring in Sunday's 32-29 win at Seattle, and after more testing Monday, coach Kyle Shanahan said it "got him pretty good" and that Samuel is "going to miss some time," per ESPN.
There is no exact timeline yet. ESPN reports San Francisco expects to be without Samuel for at least the next couple of games and likely a bit longer. That is a tough break for a 5-0 team that keeps finding ways to win with whoever is left standing.
How it happened
Samuel had been favoring the right leg earlier in the game, then went down for good with 5:06 left in the third quarter after Seahawks linebacker Drake Thomas tackled him on the left sideline, per ESPN. He landed on the ball, lost it, could not reel it back in and stayed down. The medical staff helped him off and the team ruled him out almost right away.
He finished with two catches for 21 yards and two carries for four yards, per PFT.
The receiver room is running on fumes
This is where it gets scary. The 49ers are now down four of the top five wideouts they expected to have this season. Ricky Pearsall (knee), De'Zhaun Stribling (ankle) and Demarcus Robinson (ankle) are all on injured reserve. Robinson is the closest to returning but cannot open his practice window until after next Monday night's game. Veteran Christian Kirk (calf) is also on IR, and Shanahan indicated he is not likely to return to practice this week.
That leaves Mike Evans, Jordan Watkins, Brandin Cooks and Jacob Cowing as the available receivers on the roster, with Will Pauling, Xavier Smith and Malik Turner on the practice squad.
"I think we have enough," Shanahan said. "We've got three guys on practice squad also who can help. I mean, anytime you lose this number of guys, whether it's four guys or five guys, whatever it is, it's a huge challenge. But we do have guys in this building who can do it, and we'll always look."
Some help could be on the way
The news was not all bad. Shanahan said Nick Bosa (calf), fullback Kyle Juszczyk (knee) and defensive tackle James Thompson Jr. (ankle) all have a chance to play this week. "They all got a chance, but definitely not saying they're good to go right now," he said.
Linebacker is another story. Backup Garret Wallow also hurt his hamstring Sunday and will miss at least a couple of weeks, and starter Dre Greenlaw was suspended one game for head-butting a helmetless Seahawks linebacker, per ESPN, with an appeal pending. Rookie Jaden Dugger could be leaned on.
The Niners host the Washington Commanders next Monday night. Evans and Cooks have seen it all, but this offense has to find yards somewhere. Getting Bosa back would be a massive lift, and Niners fans will take any good news they can get.
