Overshown Out as Cowboys Skip Brazil Trip

Dallas Cowboys linebacker DeMarvion Overshown (hamstring) is ruled out for Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens in Rio de Janeiro after the club confirmed he will not travel with the team on Thursday night's Brazil charter, alongside cornerback Cobie Durant, safety Malik Hooker, and safety P.J. Locke. NBC Sports reported all four missed practice Wednesday and Thursday, and the final weekly report is still due Friday.

Overshown and Hooker have been out since Week 1. Overshown has a strained hamstring. Hooker is dealing with a fractured forearm that required surgery. Durant (hamstring) and Locke (plantar fasciitis) were hurt in the Week 2 win over Washington. Stephen Jones has said Durant and Locke are not expected to need injured-reserve stints.

NBC Sports listed Durant with 87 snaps through two starts, Hooker with 12 snaps before his injury, Locke with 31 defensive snaps plus special teams in Week 2, and Overshown with 51 defensive snaps plus special teams before he went down. Outside linebacker James Houston was a full participant again and looks on track to play.

Cowboys fans already saw Jaishawn Barham step into Overshown's spot next to Dee Winters in Week 2. Markquese Bell is next up at safety with Hooker and Locke out. Shavon Revel is expected to start opposite DaRon Bland with Durant sidelined. Soft fantasy note only: stream Barham carefully until the Rio inactive list confirms the depth chart.

Ravens fans should expect a thinner Dallas front seven and secondary in Maracana. The Brazil itinerary makes the OUT list louder than a normal Thursday report because those four will not be on the plane. Week 4 is the next real checkpoint for Overshown and Hooker if the multi-week timeline holds. Durant and Locke have a shorter soft-tissue path if the plantar and hamstring calm down. None of that changes Sunday. The charter left without them.
