Fils vs Tiafoe is Sunday's Cincinnati men's final, and it is the first ATP Masters 1000 final of Arthur Fils' career. The No. 21 seed beat Flavio Cobolli 6-3, 6-4 in 67 minutes Saturday, Tennis Majors wrote, with 22 winners to Cobolli's three. Frances Tiafoe, the No. 17 seed, beat Brandon Nakashima 7-5, 6-3 after saving three set points, Tennis Majors and Flashscore both had it. It is Tiafoe's second Cincinnati final (2024). Tennis Tonic and the Cincinnati Enquirer listed 4:30 p.m. on Stadium Court.

"It's the biggest final of my career, so it's going to be cool to play. I'm going to enjoy it, and I'll try to bring the title home," Fils said, per Tennis Majors. He will rise to a career-high World No. 11 on Monday. Tiafoe is projected from 23 to 12, one spot shy of his career high. A new Masters 1000 champion is guaranteed either way.

Fils vs Tiafoe path: Cobolli in 67 minutes, Nakashima in two sets

Fils broke Cobolli for 5-3 in the first set and broke to open the second, then held with growing authority, Tennis Majors sequenced. AFP clocked it at 68 minutes after a 45-minute rain delay before the match. Fils took 90 percent of his service games (9 of 10), hit six aces, and won all three net trips. "I served very, very well from the middle of the first set to the end," he said. "I had pretty much all my targets. I stayed focused from start to finish." He is the second Frenchman to reach the Cincinnati final in the Open era, after Guy Forget in 1991, and the youngest French Masters 1000 finalist since Richard Gasquet in Toronto in 2006.

Tiafoe served to stay in the first set at 4-5, saved three set points, held for 5-5, broke, and served it out 7-5. He broke early in the second to 3-2 and broke again to close 6-3, Tennis Majors wrote. Flashscore had him breaking Nakashima five times in less than two hours. It is his 37th win of the season, most by an American, past Tommy Paul. Nakashima is guaranteed a career-high No. 17. Their all-American semifinal was the first Cincinnati men's last four between two U.S. men since 2010.
