Henderson Travels; Pats RB Not Ruled Out Week 1

TreVeyon Henderson made the trip. The Patriots running back has not practiced since Aug. 24 with a right ankle injury, but Mike Reiss and the club's injury report left him off the OUT list while flagging only reserve OL Ben Brown as out and "did not travel," per Musket Fire.

That is a different read than the unlikely Week 1 tone from yesterday. Travel does not equal active, but it keeps Wednesday night at Lumen Field as a game-time call instead of a closed door.

DNP streak, still not OUT

Fantasy boards flipped from fade to wait-and-see the moment Reiss flagged the missing "did not travel" language. That is thin ice, but it is ice the Patriots chose not to break on the official report.

New England held practices Saturday through Monday. Henderson was a non-participant each day. Coach Mike Vrabel, speaking before Monday's session, kept the door ajar: "We'll see how he feels today... He's been working extremely hard to come back," per Boston.com and Musket Fire.

NBC Sports confirmed he traveled to Seattle and still did not practice Monday. Three straight DNPs usually means ruled out. The Patriots did not take that step. Brown's "did not travel" line is the contrast that matters.

Stevenson leads if he sits

Rhamondre Stevenson figures to handle the early-down load either way. If Henderson cannot go, second-year Corey Kiner (acquired late from Arizona) is the next change-of-pace body after practicing with New England only since Aug. 31.

Henderson's rookie year still hangs over the room: 911 rushing yards, 221 receiving, and 10 total touchdowns, per Boston.com. Against Seattle's zone look, his value as a receiver is the piece New England would miss most. He had six carries for 19 yards and three catches in Super Bowl LX, including a 24-yard grab, per Musket Fire.

New England also opens without Brown at center, so the interior is already patched. Adding a Henderson scratch would thin the skill depth behind Stevenson even more. Vrabel has lived through short weeks and international logistics. He will not force an ankle that has not practiced in more than two weeks unless Henderson proves something Tuesday that the last three DNPs did not show.

Wednesday's rematch at Lumen is the Super Bowl hangover game. Henderson's status rides the wire. Stevenson is ready. The travel line is why fantasy managers and Patriots fans are still checking the injury report instead of moving on.
