Jahmyr Gibbs ran wild in the desert. The Lions back ripped off 151 yards and two rushing touchdowns on 25 carries, Jared Goff threw three touchdown passes, and Detroit rolled the Arizona Cardinals 45-21 at State Farm Stadium on Sunday, per the Lions' official recap and ESPN box score.

Detroit improves to 3-2 and heads into its Week 6 bye with a complete bounce-back after a slow start. Arizona drops to 1-4.

Seven straight scoring drives

After punting on their first three possessions, the Lions scored on their next seven, stacking six touchdowns and a field goal, per Lions.com. Gibbs did the heavy lifting on the ground (25-151-2) and added five catches for 56 yards, giving him 207 yards from scrimmage.

Goff went 19 of 30 for 271 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions, and he even sneaked in a 1-yard rushing score. Sam LaPorta caught five balls for 88 yards and a touchdown, Jameson Williams had two catches for 47 yards and two scores, and Amon-Ra St. Brown added six for 69, per the box score.

If you started Gibbs this week, that is the kind of every-down explosion that wins fantasy matchups by itself.

Defense and returns join the party

Detroit's defense forced five Cardinals three-and-outs in the first half after Arizona scored on the opening drive, per Tim Twentyman of Lions.com. That flip let Goff and Gibbs cook while Arizona kept going three-and-out. Special teams chipped in with big punt returns from Tom Kennedy and St. Brown, and Jake Bates stayed perfect on the year (7-for-7 on field goals, 14-for-14 on extras).

Jacoby Brissett threw for 292 yards and three touchdowns for Arizona but also took five sacks and tossed an interception. Trey McBride caught nine passes for 66 yards and a score, but the Cardinals' run game was stuffed at 56 yards as a team.

Bye week with momentum

"It was a complete team effort Sunday in Arizona," Twentyman wrote after all three phases showed up. The Lions needed this one after a choppy first month, and Gibbs plus Goff just handed them the loudest kind of answer.

Next up is rest, then the stretch run with a 3-2 record and real momentum. When Gibbs is averaging 6.0 yards a carry, Goff is throwing dimes, and the offense is scoring on seven straight drives, nobody in Detroit is worried about the standings for a few days.
