Jayden Daniels Elbow Out vs Cowboys

Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels dislocated his left elbow on the final play of the first half against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday and was ruled out for the rest of a 37-20 loss at AT&T Stadium. Head coach Dan Quinn told reporters after the game that X-rays did not show a fracture. Daniels will travel home with the team and undergo more imaging Monday.

Daniels stumbled after a snap under center near the goal line, braced himself with his left arm, and went down in pain as the pass fell incomplete. Medical staff got him into an air cast and onto a cart. Marcus Mariota took over for the second half and will stay under center until Daniels is cleared.

Before the exit Daniels was 11 of 17 for 96 yards and a touchdown, plus 69 rushing yards on seven carries. It is the same left elbow he dislocated last season against Seattle on Nov. 2, 2025, a hit that cost him three weeks and later flared again. Quinn said he does not regret the aggressive third-and-goal call with three seconds left, even while calling the outcome tough for his quarterback.

Fantasy rooms that locked Daniels as a dual-threat QB1 just got the worst kind of Week 2 alert. Do not invent an MRI grade or a surgery decision from Sunday night chatter. Bank the confirmed dislocation, the clean X-ray, and Mariota as the next-man-up starter. Commanders fans already know this elbow history. Seattle is next on the schedule.

Dallas still rolled. Washington still loses the half and the night. The board that matters for the capital is whether Monday's imaging keeps Daniels out longer than the last dislocation window.

AT&T Stadium stakes

Cowboys 37, Commanders 20. Daniels out. Mariota in. Imaging Monday.

Left elbow again. Carted off. Washington waits on Monday.
