Reed Ruled Out for Packers TNF Opener

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed has been ruled out for Thursday night's regular-season home opener against the Atlanta Falcons with a neck injury, per the club's final Week 3 injury report, joining guard Aaron Banks, tackle Zach Bako-Bewele, and defensive tackle Warren Brinson on the OUT list at Lambeau Field. Defensive tackles Javon Hargrave (knee/concussion) and Anthony Campbell (ankle) are questionable. Tackle Anthony Belton and guard Donovan Jennings carry no game designation and are available.

That Wednesday stamp is the board. Reed did not participate Monday through Wednesday after the neck issue that already knocked him from the early-week conversation. Soft fantasy note only: do not invent a late surprise activation from a final OUT. Bo Melton is available with no designation after full participation all week.

Packers fans wanted Reed's speed in the home opener. Instead the Thursday plan runs without him, without Banks on the interior, and without Bako-Bewele after the season-ending knee. Belton's full Wednesday upgrade and clean designation give the OL a next-man path. Hargrave's concussion checklist is the other Lambeau question mark on the defensive front.

Atlanta arrives with its own OUT in Samson Ebukam and a questionable stamp on Billy Bowman. Michael Penix Jr. and Tua Tagovailoa both carry no designation for Green Bay. The Packers' receiver room still has Melton available. The missing piece is Reed's suddenness after the neck DNPs.

Neck injuries do not get negotiated on a short week. When the final report stamps OUT after three estimated non-participations, Thursday is closed for that player. Green Bay's job is to win the home opener with the names that cleared the board, not the ones that did not.

Melton, the available offensive line upgrades, and whoever wins the snaps opposite Atlanta's receivers are the living board now. Reed's absence is fixed until a later week says otherwise.
