Burrow Off Injury Report Ahead of Steelers

Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow is no longer on the team's injury report after working without limitations in Wednesday's open practice period, per NBC Sports, a clean midweek stamp that points to a full go for Week 3 at the Pittsburgh Steelers. Before practice, coach Zac Taylor said he was not sure how much Burrow would be able to do. The tape and the report answered that question for him.

That Wednesday board is the checkpoint. Soft fantasy note only: treat the missing designation as the greenest midweek signal you can get, not as permission to invent a 40-attempt lock. The Steelers week still has Friday. Burrow being off the sheet means Cincinnati did not need to protect him with a limited or DNP label after the open period.

Bengals fans spent Week 2 watching Burrow listed questionable with a back issue and hearing the Mic'd Up clip where he told teammates a hit from Texans defensive end Will Anderson popped his rib back into place. That is the context once. Wednesday's empty injury report is the update that matters now.

Taylor's pre-practice caution looked either anxious or tactical. Videos from the open portion showed Burrow moving without the kind of pacing that makes a staff invent a rest day. When the club publishes no Burrow line at all, the Sunday plan in Pittsburgh starts with the starter healthy enough to be unmarked.

Cincinnati still had defensive tackles Jonathan Allen (knee) and B.J. Hill (Achilles) out of practice, and Andrei Iosivas is a separate receiver IR story after thumb surgery. The quarterback board, though, cleared the Wednesday checkpoint that Week 2 never quite did.

A road game in Pittsburgh is already loud enough without a quarterback mystery. Burrow off the report gives the Bengals one less variable before the short week finishes. Steelers fans will still test the pocket. Cincinnati's job is to keep the empty designation true through Friday.

Back issues do not vanish because a coach shrugs before practice. They fade when the player takes every period and the report refuses to list him. That is the Wednesday story Bengals fans wanted after the rib-pop tape.

QB board

Burrow: worked without limits Wednesday. Not on the injury report. Full-go signal for Steelers week.

Week 2 context: questionable (back); rib pop vs Texans noted once.

Also Wednesday: Allen and Hill DNP on the defensive front. Iosivas is the separate IR path.

Fan closer

Empty report beats a hopeful quote. Watch Friday, but Wednesday already said Burrow is building toward Pittsburgh.
