Kenneth Walker Runs for 2 TDs as Chiefs Move to 5-0
By Smacktok

Kenneth Walker squirted through a hole at the line, ran away from the last defender and was gone from 33 yards out. That first-quarter run set the tone, and Walker finished with 128 yards and two touchdowns as the Kansas City Chiefs beat the Los Angeles Chargers 22-6 at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday.
The Chiefs are 5-0 and joined the 49ers and Vikings, both on byes, as the NFL's only unbeaten teams. The Chargers fell to 0-6.
Kenneth Walker Is the Engine in Kansas City
Walker, the Chiefs' big free-agent addition, leads the NFL in rushing, and he showed why. He added a 2-yard touchdown late in the second quarter, bouncing away from a defensive tackle and finding a crease. "The first guy never tackles him," Patrick Mahomes said.
Mahomes threw for 272 yards in his 100th career win, in a rematch with the team he was facing last December when he tore ligaments in his left knee. Xavier Worthy caught seven passes for 73 yards and Travis Kelce added five for 53, with Rashee Rice and Tyquan Thornton out. Andy Reid improved to 23-5 in regular-season games after a bye.
Walker managers, this is the ceiling week you drafted him for.
It was not pretty. Harrison Butker missed an extra point and a field goal try, though he did hit from 44, 50 and 30, and the Chiefs kept stalling in short yardage. Cornerback Chris Roland-Wallace was ejected early in the fourth for throwing a punch at Chargers right tackle Alex Harkey.
The Chargers Are Still Searching
Justin Herbert threw for 204 yards and an interception to Jack Cochrane, his league-leading eighth of the season. Los Angeles finished with 259 total yards and two Cameron Dicker field goals. The Chargers were without Joe Alt, Kayode Awosika and Tre' Harris, and Ladd McConkey left in the second quarter with a concussion.
Their best chance came in the third quarter, when they drove inside the Kansas City 15. A run went nowhere, Herbert threw two incompletions, and Dicker kicked a 30-yarder to make it 19-6. Earlier, Herbert ran straight into linebacker Nick Bolton on a third down. Butker closed the scoring with a 30-yard field goal with 3:52 left.
Fresh off back-to-back 11-win seasons, the Chargers are off to their worst start since 2000. "There's no justification," Jim Harbaugh said. "There's nothing I would say that wouldn't sound like an excuse."
Up Next: Walker Goes Back to Seattle
The Chargers get a bye they badly need. The Chiefs visit the Seahawks next Sunday night, so Walker brings an unbeaten team back to his old house in prime time.
