Puka Nacua Hip DNP Ahead of Giants MNF
By Smacktok

Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua was added to the injury report Friday as a non-participant with a hip issue, turning Monday Night Football against the New York Giants into a watch item after a clean Week 1 board. NBC Sports and CBS both carried the same stamp: full practice Thursday, nowhere on the field Friday, hip listed, and one more practice window Saturday before Sean McVay has to put a real designation on the sheet.
Nacua was not on the Week 1 injury report for the Melbourne loss to San Francisco. That is why Friday landed like a surprise. It is still unclear whether the hip is tied to the psoas soreness that cut short his August joint practice with Dallas. The Rams have not called it a recurrence, and Smacktok fans should not invent that link until the coaches say it.
What Friday actually showed
Backup Jordan Whittington also missed Friday with a quad injury, which thins the next man up if Nacua cannot go. Davante Adams returned to practice Friday after a rest day Thursday, so the perimeter plan still has a veteran target if the WR1 stamp goes red. Safeties Kamren Kinchens (hamstring) and Kam Curl (ankle) and linebackers Omar Speights (hip) and Nate Landman (shoulder) were also on the Friday report in some form, but the headline for fantasy desks is still Nacua.
In Week 1, Nacua caught five of nine targets for 74 yards in the 27-7 loss to the 49ers. That volume is why a Friday DNP matters more than a rest day. If he is limited or out Monday, Adams becomes the clear WR1 lean and the rest of the room (Konata Mumpfield, Xavier Smith, Tutu Atwell, and company) inherits the scraps.
The Rams are already 0-1 after the Melbourne opener and cannot afford another quiet night through the air at SoFi. Nacua's Friday absence puts real pressure on Saturday's practice look and on however McVay talks after it. Until that update lands, keep him on the watch list instead of locking a start or a sit.
SoFi on Monday
Kickoff is 8:15 p.m. ET Monday at SoFi Stadium, Giants at Rams. Saturday practice is the last real look before the inactive list. Until then, treat Nacua as a hip watch, not a locked absence.
Full Thursday. Hip DNP Friday. Monday Night Football waiting. That is the Nacua board into SoFi.
