Curry, Warriors Rout Heat for 6th Straight
By Smacktok
•

Stephen Curry scored 29 points with six threes, and the Golden State Warriors rolled past the Miami Heat 120-100 at Chase Center for their sixth straight win since an 0-3 start. Curry shook off a 2-of-10 first half, then took over in the third as Golden State pushed its record to 6-3.
Miami dropped to 3-6. Giannis Antetokounmpo had 20 points and 14 rebounds, Davion Mitchell added 22 and eight assists, and Bam Adebayo finished with 18 and 10, but the Heat got outscored 26-9 in a decisive third-quarter stretch and never recovered.
Slow Start, Then the Surge
Curry opened 1 for 8 and sat at 2 of 10 at halftime before the third-quarter heater. He finished 9 of 19 from the field and 5 of 5 from the line, just missing a fourth straight 30-point night because he sat once the game was decided. An early three also moved him past Oscar Robertson into 17th on the NBA's career scoring list at 26,710 points.
Yaxel Lendeborg chipped in 17 points, eight rebounds, and six assists. Draymond Green posted a season-high 11 assists, and Georges Niang scored 13 off the bench. Golden State shot 16 of 41 from three (39 percent).
Old Friends Back at Chase
Klay Thompson returned to Chase Center in a Heat uniform and scored 11 points on 3-of-10 shooting after a warm ovation before tipoff. A night earlier he had hit the overtime winner at the Clippers. Andrew Wiggins, also facing his old team, managed just two points on 1-of-6 shooting with six rebounds and four assists.
Heat coach Erik Spoelstra had made defending the three a priority. Golden State still got enough looks to pull away once Curry found rhythm, and the home crowd got the reunion night it wanted without giving Miami a real chance late.
Streak Mode After the Rough Start
That third-quarter 26-9 swing was the whole game in miniature: Miami hung around on the glass with Giannis and Bam, then Curry and the floor spacing finally pulled the rope.
Six straight since that 0-3 hole is the kind of swing that resets a Warriors season. Miami is three games into a five-game West Coast trip and visits Sacramento on Sunday. Golden State hosts the Magic on Saturday night.
Smacktok pick lean: Lean higher on Curry's made threes. He hit six on Thursday after a cold half, and that third-quarter surge is the version of Steph that travels into the Magic matchup.
Chase Center got its splash reunion, and the Warriors left with another 20-point win. The streak is real now.
