Flowers Hamstring Clouds Ravens Rio Trip

Zay Flowers' hamstring is trending the wrong way for the Baltimore Ravens' Week 3 trip to face the Dallas Cowboys in Rio de Janeiro after Ian Rapoport said on NFL Network's Good Morning Football that missing Wednesday practice "does not bode well" for Sunday participation. Rapoport framed the injury as relatively minor, but stressed Baltimore wants Flowers available all season and will not rush him back.

Without Flowers, Baltimore's scoring cratered from four touchdowns on five drives with him to three touchdowns on 16 drives without him, per the team site.

Ravens fans already watched Rashod Bateman step up with seven catches for 88 yards and a touchdown against the Saints. That is the Plan B again if Flowers sits. Soft fantasy note only: stream Bateman carefully until the inactive list confirms the Rio board.

Cowboys fans should expect Baltimore to lean on Lamar Jackson's legs and short-area throws if the top slot threat is missing. Ravens fans should expect the same careful soft-tissue math that sat Flowers last Sunday. The trip is long. The hamstring does not care about the postcard.

The Brazil itinerary makes the caution louder. A long haul and an unfamiliar field already complicate soft-tissue decisions. Minter said the club has to take everything into account, most importantly what is best for Flowers. That is not a soft no. It is a reminder that availability in January matters more than one Sunday in Rio.

Fantasy managers chasing upside should treat Wednesday's DNP as the loudest midweek signal until Thursday participation changes the picture. Bateman is the handcuff that already paid off once. Chris Moore's ankle tag keeps the depth chart from looking clean even if Flowers returns.
