Caleb Williams Hamstring vs Vikings

Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams left Sunday's 9-3 loss to the Minnesota Vikings on a cart with a right hamstring injury after a scramble in the fourth quarter at Soldier Field. The Bears ruled him out. Head coach Ben Johnson said the team will know more Monday, when Williams undergoes an MRI, and that Williams was in good spirits afterward.

Johnson said he was happy the injury was not to the knee, his first fear when Williams went down without contact. He also noted a hamstring can still be serious. Patrick Norton of CHGO reported Williams walked out of the locker room under his own power without a noticeable limp. Tyson Bagent finished the game.

Chicago's offense never found the Week 1 rhythm. The Bears managed three points, drew eight penalties for 58 yards, and watched a D'Andre Swift goal-line fumble and a late blocked kick erase their best drives. Brian Flores' defense and wet Soldier Field weather kept the board stuck in single digits.

Fantasy rooms that started Williams just ate a cart-off alert in a low-scoring home loss. Do not invent a Grade 1, 2, or 3 timeline from random doctor tweets. Stick to what the team confirmed: right hamstring, carted, MRI Monday, good spirits, walking under his own power. The 1-1 Bears visit the 2-0 Eagles next Monday night.

Williams has dealt with a hamstring before, including a 2022 USC Pac-12 title game scare he played through. Sunday looked different because he could not put weight on it and needed the cart. Monday's imaging sets the real board.

Soldier Field board

Vikings 9, Bears 3. Williams out. MRI Monday.

Right hamstring. Cart ride. Chicago waits on the scan.
