Henderson Out Week 1 vs Seahawks

TreVeyon Henderson is out for kickoff. The Patriots listed the second-year running back as OUT with an ankle injury on Tuesday's final Week 1 report after three straight non-participation days, per patriots.com. The midday travel hope is closed.
Wednesday night at Lumen Field is a Super Bowl LX rematch. New England will open without Henderson's big-play juice and without backup center Ben Brown (knee), who did not travel.
Three DNPs, then OUT
Henderson had not practiced since Aug. 24. He still made the Seattle trip, which kept fantasy boards alive through Monday. Tuesday's report ended that. The club's own analysis said he sat all three practices this week before the OUT stamp.
Rhamondre Stevenson is the lead back. Corey Kiner, added on cutdown weekend from Arizona, is the third running back on the 53 after barely a week of practices. New England can still elevate Lan Larison or Hassan Haskins from the practice squad Wednesday if it wants a third body on game day.
That is a thinner room than the one that carried New England through the playoffs. Stevenson's early-down volume jumps. Any change-of-pace or receiving snaps Henderson usually eats have to come from Kiner or an elevation.
Lumen Field without the juice
Earlier Tuesday the board still read like a travel-and-wait story. The final report flipped it. Brown's absence already patched the interior with Greg Van Roten as the likely backup. Henderson's OUT line is the skill-side hit.
Seattle opens title defense on the same night. Patriots defensive tackle Christian Barmore cleared the report after a full Monday. The offense is the side carrying the scars into kickoff.
Stevenson's playoff role already showed New England can win with him as the lead. What it loses Tuesday is Henderson's home-run speed on early downs and third-down receiving. Patriots writers floated Larison as the receiving elevation and Haskins as the downhill option if the club wants a third back active. Either way, the 53-man depth behind Stevenson is thinner than it looked at midday.
Stevenson gets the rock. Kiner learns on the fly. Henderson watches. That is New England's Week 1 backfield for the rematch at Lumen.
Official game status is what fantasy managers draft against. Travel notes and practice rumors are warmups. Tuesday's OUT line is the card you play for Wednesday night.
