That is not a hard confirmation. It is the clearest public lean yet heading into Kansas City's opener. Justin Fields would start if Mahomes cannot go.

Good chance, not locked

Reid's wording matters for fantasy managers who want a stamp. He did not say Mahomes is definitely starting. He said good chance, then most likely. NBC's desk still expects Mahomes to be out there given how camp has trended, but the official line stays cautious until game week ends.

Mahomes tore his ACL and LCL in Week 15 last season. That timeline made the opener a short turnaround on paper. Camp reports and prior Reid comments have pointed toward availability, and this Tuesday update keeps that path intact without slamming the door shut on a late sit.

Broncos MNF without certainty
