Micah Parsons opened his 21-day PUP practice window Wednesday and returned to Packers practice for the first time since tearing up his knee last December. The four-time All-Pro edge was limited to individual drills and will not play Sunday when Green Bay visits the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium (4:25 p.m. ET, FOX).

The calendar lines up clean: 21 days from Wednesday lands on the Thanksgiving Eve game at the Los Angeles Rams, the target Parsons has circled without promising a debut date. He called the first day back "fulfilling" and said nerves were gone after more than 300 days of rehab.

Window Open, Individual Drills Only

Parsons is still on the physically unable to perform list while the 21-day clock runs. Wednesday was individual work only. He is already looking ahead to next week's full practice reps as the real test of where his knee and conditioning stand.

The dual ACL reconstruction and full meniscus repair is why his timeline stretched past teammates like Christian Watson and Tucker Kraft, who returned sooner from ACL tears. Packers director of sports medicine Nate Weir and outside specialists guided the process, and Parsons has repeatedly pointed back to that group for getting him this far.

Not Playing at Gillette

Week 9 at New England is not the return game. Packers Wire and the first injury report of the week made that clear when the window opened. Green Bay will keep stacking practice days while the Patriots matchup comes and goes.

When he does play, Parsons has already said the snaps will be managed. Conditioning is the worst it has been in his career after missing training camp, and he does not expect 50 or 60-snap All-Pro workloads right away. Great moments mixed with rough ones are part of the plan he is willing to accept.

Thanksgiving Eve Is the Eye Line

Jordan Love called the practice return a huge morale boost for a Packers defense already ranked among the league's better units in points and yards allowed. Matt LaFleur said the same after watching the work Parsons put in to reach this point.

Parsons wants November and December football. The stretch run is when he aimed to come back, and the Rams game on Thanksgiving Eve is the first realistic chance to make that real. Until then it is practice, evaluation, and patience.

Smacktok pick lean: No Week 9 play on Parsons. Lean higher on his snap share only once he is activated and the usage report shows real defensive snaps, most likely starting with that Thanksgiving Eve window at the Rams.

Window open, individual drills done, Gillette off the table. The show Parsons wants starts when the 21 days are stacked.
